Action and sports
Slow the jump, keep the run-up in real time.
Slow motion app for macOS
No slo-mo camera needed. Turn a 60 fps iPhone video into 1,920 fps of super smooth slow motion, with AI models that run locally on your Mac.
Use cases
Slow the jump, keep the run-up in real time.
Slow a highlight, or boost 30 fps captures to 60.
24 or 30 fps to 60 at the same speed. No slow motion.
Speed ramps for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
Golf swings, serves, lifts. Frame by frame, no high-speed camera.
Pours, splashes, drops. A 240 fps look from a 60 fps take.
Smooth out low frame rate clips from video models.
Interpolate a render instead of rendering more frames.
How it works
This is not generative AI, so nothing is hallucinated. RIFE, a neural network trained on real video, tracks how each pixel moves between two real frames and builds the frames in between from them. Editor tricks fall short: frame sampling stutters, frame blending ghosts, optical flow tears on fast motion.
Set in and out points and a factor from 2× to 32×, with eased ramps. Footage outside the region is untouched.
Every new frame is built only from the real frames on either side. No invented detail, and fast motion stays sharp instead of ghosting.
RIFE runs on Apple MLX, video decodes and encodes on the media engine. Your video never leaves your Mac.
Decode, interpolate and encode in one pass. Preview plays in real time while you edit.
Queue whole files and interpolate them end to end, at the same speed or slowed.
In: H.264, HEVC, ProRes, from Files or Photos. Out: H.264, HEVC or ProRes at source, 60, 30 or 24 fps.
